JOB PURPOSE AND IMPACT
This position is responsible for the leadership of the data team across Cargill Animal Nutrition (CAN) North America. With three legacy business units deploying or redeploying SAP technologies over the next three years, this is a key role focused on the enablement of businesses by ensuring quality control of key business data to meet business management and decision support needs in SAP and other business systems. This includes developing and deploying the strategy and plan to meet the comme rcial needs through sound system utilization and management including master data governance.
This is a key role to ensure well controlled and properly executed data set up and report design to enable business decisions. This role will remain business-focused and process-aligned and will drive continuous improvements across the team.
This position can be located in Olathe, KS, Minneapolis, MN or remotely.
Develop the strategy, plan, and processes to effectively manage data processes across CAN NA
Provide timely and accurate data and reporting to commercial and operations teams, FP&A, and other partners
Ensure compliance and controls within processes
Ensure effective processes are in place to provide accurate, timely, and insightful management reporting and data to the FP&A and business partners.
Retain and develop key talent to support data needs across CAN North America
Standardize data across businesses and teams to enable consistency and quality control of key business data
Partner cross-enterprise to leverage scale, expertise, and best practices
Achieve and continuously improve span of control and fragmentation of work targets
Identify, develop and coach direct reports to ensure we have high performing teams. Empower team to initiate change and drive results.
Create a culture of self-driven curiosity development and encourage intellectual curiosity to meet individual development goals.
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting, Business or System related field, or equivalent experience
Minimum of four years of related work experience, including accounting experience working with data and business intelligence, specifically SAP
Demonstrated ability to develop long term strategic plans
Proven track record of talent development
Demonstrated ability to understand and use technology to improve process and control
Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
Masters Degree in Business, Technical, or Finance/Accounting
Two years of supervisory experience
Demonstrated ability to create a team culture of continuous improvement, process optimization, and intellectual curiosity
Demonstrated experience and success in managing virtual teams and motivating for high performance
Experience in commodity trading business
Experience managing technical data and BI teams
