Job Description

In this senior role, you will independently lead and execute a diverse range of laboratory testing activities related to subsurface investigations, geotechnical design, and construction material acceptance testing. Additionally, you may be responsible for coordinating the efforts of less experienced technicians. Collaborating with the laboratory manager, project engineers, and managers, you will oversee and ensure the completion of laboratory testing while meeting project deadlines. With at least six of experience in construction materials and/or geotechnical laboratory testing, you are expected to bring a wealth of expertise to the position. Ideal candidates will possess certifications from reputable industry groups such as KDOT, MoDOT, ACI, or NICET, further demonstrating their commitment to excellence in the field. Your role will be crucial in maintaining the laboratory's high standards and contributing to the overall success of the projects undertaken.

You bring to the team:

Required:

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Ability to contribute and work well on a team.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience in construction materials and/or geotechnical laboratory testing.

  • Certification from industry-recognized groups such as KDOT, MoDOT, ACI, or NICET is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently perform a wide variety of laboratory testing associated with subsurface investigations and geotechnical design, as well as construction material acceptance testing.

  • Proven coordination skills, including the ability to oversee and guide less experienced technicians.

  • Effective collaboration with laboratory managers, project engineers, and managers to ensure timely completion of laboratory testing in alignment with project deadlines.

  • Valid driver's license with a good driving history.

  • The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

Preferred, but not required:

  • Associate's degree from a technical or four-year institution.
