Kelly Scientific Resources has an opening for a QA Technician to work second shift in New Century, KS.
SUMMARY/PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB: Quality Assurance position involved in the development and use of analysis, measurement, and laboratory tools to ensure quality in all facets of the organization in accordance with company values.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for product quality testing Understand and comply with all HACCP, Allergen, Environmental, regulatory and customer demands and requirements. Assist departments with product testing if needed. Pulling samples for microbiological testing, retains, and sensory panels. Printing labels from LIMS for production sampling. Keep detailed and accurate quality records. Conduct employee training, education and development relating to quality. Evaluate products and disposition out-of-spec materials. Create and update LIMS, lab procedures and programs. Order all laboratory equipment and supplies. Create daily report of quality issues and concerns and communicate them to management. Act as interface to research and development, contract plants and other plants on quality testing and concerns. Evaluate testing methods to ensure accuracy. Manage laboratory equipment calibrations and standardizations. Oversee pre-shipment program to ensure customer satisfaction. Have a good understanding of the general purpose, philosophy and direction as a whole and specifically the plant as it relates to employee policies and expectations, quality, customer satisfaction, GMP, sanitation, and production requirements. Maintain awareness of customer and regulatory demands and focus. Report food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action. Perform quality line audits of each work center. Keep lab clean and maintain master sanitation schedule. Performs other duties as assigned. Responsible to adhere to quality system requirements
QUALIFICATIONS – KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Conflict recognition and resolution. Scientific method and data gathering skills. Knowledge of SPC and TQM. Creative thinking and deductive reasoning skills. Patience and attention to detail. Customer-focused. Very strong written and verbal communications skills. Project management skills.
QUALIFICATIONS – EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: Associate Degree / College degree in Food Science, Engineering, or related field required. Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Windows and Outlook. Able to lift 50lbs, forklift training a plus.
