Garmin Avionics Installation Technician in New Century, Kansas

Garmin is looking to hire an experienced Avionics Installation Technician to join our Aircraft Certification Engineering team at our hangar in New Century, KS. In this role, you'll be responsible for installing certified and experimental avionics systems in Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Part 23 and 25 aircraft. Our Avionics Install Technicians modify aircraft to accommodate panel and remote mounted avionics equipment, and also assist in the development of documentation for new avionics systems. \n\n \n\nEssential functions: \n\n\n\t\n\tPrepare new aircraft wiring harnesses in accordance with Engineering drawings and installation documents\n\t\n\t\n\tTroubleshoot existing avionics installation interconnects\n\t\n\t\n\tUse ramp test equipment to verify proper function of installed avionics\n\t\n\t\n\tAssist Engineering in development and verification of new installation documentation\n\t\n\t\n\tDemonstrate compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements\n\t\n Basic Qualifications:\n\n\n\t\n\tMust possess a High School Diploma or GED\n\t\n\t\n\tMust possess experience substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description with installing avionics systems in piston, turbine and turbojet aircraft\n\t\n\t\n\tMust possess demonstrated ability to read and interpret aircraft wiring diagrams and installations manuals relevant to Garmin’s business needs\n\t\n\t\n\tMust possess understanding of commercial avionics interface standards and their installation relevant to Garmin’s business needs\n\t\n\t\n\tMust possess experience, substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description, in implementation and modification of aircraft pitot-static systems \n\t\n\n\nDesired Qualifications:\n\n\n\t5+ years of experience installing avionics in Part 25 or Part 23 aircraft\n\n\n Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
