Garmin Aircraft Systems Designer (Electrical) in New Century, Kansas
We are looking for a full-time Aircraft Systems Designer (Electrical) to join our avionics certification engineering team located at our hangar in New Century, KS (greater Kansas City area). In this role you will be responsible for assisting in the design of avionics systems installations and wiring interconnects. Other essential functions include: \n\n\n\tGenerate wiring diagrams, wiring routing schematics, component installation drawings and other type design data required to support STC projects\n\tAssist installation technicians in troubleshooting installation wiring interconnects\n\tAssist in preparation and verification of new installation documentation\n\tAssist in generation of certification ground and bench tests plans\n\tAssist in creation of certification test reports and other compliance data for submissions to the FAA\n Qualifications: \n\nA Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from a four-year college or university AND one year of relevant experience, or above equivalent experience. Other requirements include: \n\n\n\tDetailed working knowledge of aircraft wiring diagrams, wiring routing drawings and the content required on those drawings for FAA certification\n\tDemonstrated solid understanding of commercial avionics interface standards and their installation\n\tMust possess proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office products\n\tMust be detail-oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision\n\tAbility to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment\n\tDemonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication\n\n\nPreferred qualifications: \n\n\n\t5+ years of relevant experience \n\n\nGarmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
