Job Summary: Entry level SQL Server Database Engineer position working to manage, support, and enhance ScriptPro products.
Reporting Relationship: Reports to Manager, DBA and Data Architecture
Schedule: Generally, Monday through Friday 8am-5pm. This role is remote, however regular and punctual attendance, as well as consistent engagement, are essential functions of every job at ScriptPro.
Scope of the Role:
Query performance analysis and tuning
Schema, index, and statistics analysis and design
Collaborate with application developers on database object development and performance tuning
Work on database development projects as part of the product development team structure
Work on database maintenance, backup, and disaster recovery processes and procedures for ScriptPro systems
Troubleshooting internal & external customer systems
Development and implementation of automation & tools to improve diagnostic and administration processes for internal and external systems
Keeping up to date on SQL Server technology and trends to keep ScriptPro products up to date
Keeping up to date on current security concerns relevant to SQL Server and ScriptPro systems (HIPAA, HITECH, PCI, etc)
Participate in the on-call support rotation for database-related issues escalated from other departments during implementation projects and production support
Able to handle multiple responsibilities and shift priorities as production and development needs change
Education and Experience Requirements:
BS or equivalent degree from accredited university or equivalent combination of work and experience
Previous experience with relational databases and SQL
Previous experience with disaster recovery processes and procedures
Basic Windows Server administration experience a plus
Powershell, dbatools.io, and other scripting knowledge a plus
Previous experience with ScriptPro products a plus
Attributes Desired:
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Able to work independently or within a technical team of varying skill levels
Working Conditions: This position operates in an office environment. Routine use of standard office equipment is required. Must be able to use a computer for extended periods of time. Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, and expected to occasionally lift, stoop, bend, and reach. Ability to learn and solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions is required.
