Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

The VP, Digital Analytics Implementation will be responsible for overall tagging strategy across Synchrony’s Digital properties. You will be leading a talented team of tagging analysts playing a crucial role in capturing data generated from billions of visits to Synchrony’s digital properties and millions in advertising spend. You will partner with cross functional teams to ensure the right technical solutions are built to feed critical data from Digital platforms to appropriate analytics tools or data repositories like Data Warehouses and Enterprise Data Lake

This position is remote, where you have the option to work from home. On occasion we may request for you to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events. Essential Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute comprehensive Digital Tagging framework to facilitate digital data capture at scale

  • Own Tag management System, drive the strategic roadmap and ensure that tools and codes are constantly updated in line with enhancements to Digital properties

  • Drive the technical design and development of Adobe Analytics and/or Google Analytics for Synchrony digital assets including web and mobile applications.

  • Lead team of more than 10 analysts implementing analytics tags across digital properties. Providing thought leadership to the team and ensuring the team is getting essential trainings to keep up to changes in the market.

  • Constantly evaluate the process of implementing tags and identify opportunities to streamline with necessary QA checks in place

  • Constantly explore new tools and techniques in the market and educated broader team on opportunities to enhance tagging framework

  • Support Strategic Initiatives in Digital place by developing comprehensive tagging plan and executing on it

  • Partner with MarTech team to integrate other MarTech tools into overall tagging strategy

  • Partner with cross functional teams to provide learning and career growth opportunities for team members.

  • Develop and maintain efficient project and resource management processes balancing the project lead between domestic and offshore team members including contractors.

  • Partner with Data Office to ensure tagging solutions are capturing and storing data in line with Data Governance standards.

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned


  • Bachelor's degree, or in lieu of degree a high school diploma and 9+ years of work experience in coding and tagging space

  • A minimum of 7 years of work experience to include:

  • 4+ years of leadership/managerial experience in project and team management

  • 5+ years of hands experience in tag management solutions like Tealium & Ensighten

  • 4+ years of experience in web development technologies including HTML, AJAX, JavaScript ,etc

  • 4+ years of managing client relationships and presenting to leadership teams

  • 5+ years of experience in setting up data connections to digital analytics tools like Adobe or Google Analytics

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience in managing team and projects in Agile framework using tools like JIRA

  • Hands on experience in proxy and browser debugging tools for debugging analytics and quality assurance of technical implementations. Utilizing tools like Observe Point for digital data quality checks and audit of tagging and technical analytics implementation.

  • Hands on experience in developing analytics solution and framework for complex single page applications (SPAs) which use technologies like React.js, Angular.js for front end development.

  • Experience in developing and maintaining JavaScript codebase for analytics using version control systems like Bitbucket, Git etc.

  • Experience in Financial industry in setting up solutions to capture highly regulated customer data

  • Utilizing knowledge and understanding related to Lean Agile Principles and SAFe Agile framework when developing and delivering analytical solutions using tools like JIRA, Confluence.

  • Prior experience in leading analytics implementation migration projects.

  • Demonstrated communication and documentation skills with the ability to relay technical requirements to engineers for execution

  • Demonstrated analytic, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Ability to innovate and find creative solutions to meeting business goals

  • Proven ability to lead teams through transitions and phases of uncertainty

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).

The salary range for this position is 100,000.00 - 200,000.00 USD Annual

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.
