Synchrony VP, Ashley Furniture Marketing Leader in MERRIAM, Kansas

Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

Lead the marketing strategy for the Ashley Furniture credit portfolio, one of the top ten portfolios in Synchrony and the largest furniture portfolio in Home and Auto. The marketing imperatives include aligning for growth the corporate store strategy, digital product offering, and licensee store positioning. Develops and implements marketing strategies and tactics to achieve Synchrony growth metrics as well as critical client requirements. Works collaboratively with both the sales and cross functional teams as well as the partner organizations to drive new card accounts and incremental card usage. Builds and grows the Ashley Advantage Plus program, a license opportunity designed to reward Synchrony exclusive use and engage partners directly. Coaches, leads, and develops a team of four direct reports.

This position is remote, where you have the option to work from home. On occasion we may request for you to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events. Essential Responsibilities:

  • Establish and develop key relationships at the senior levels of partner and licensee organizations.

  • Partner with the business and the Ashley team to lead, develop, implement, and monitor dynamic annual growth plans.

  • Lead and develop team of 4 client marketing professionals.

  • Understand and incorporate the client's key business objectives, strategic vision, and marketing calendar into the planning process to achieve set objectives.

  • Optimize contractual marketing spend and pursue additional funds to meet growth goals.

  • Identify portfolio segments to target for partner and business gain; test and implement programs to grow these segments.

  • Manage all aspects of the value proposition, including tracking industry trends, competitor, and customer experience metrics.

  • Ensure program profitability and penetration through continued enhancements.

  • Drive program to effectively work in an omni-channel environment. Ensure digital assets are in place and optimized. Push for cutting edge thinking and agenda.

  • Monitor & manage performance of all key credit and marketing metrics vs. plan.

  • Lead the portfolio reviews as a part of the Synchrony planning cycle.

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or, in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma and 10+ years of marketing experience in the credit card or financial services industries.

  • 8+ years of marketing experience to include:

  • 5+ years of managerial responsibility for both organizations and other professionals.

  • 3+ years Marketing experience in the credit card or financial services industry.

  • 5+ years of demonstrated growth marketing leadership skills (analytic and creative) with significant exposure to consumer facing programs/products

  • 5+ years of experience with digital channels - online and mobile

  • Ability to travel as needed 20%

Desired Characteristics:

  • Advanced degree (MS, MBA).

  • Collaborative style and approach with comfort working in a matrixed, decentralized structure.

  • Outstanding communications, relationship building, influencing and collaboration skills. Proven ability to partner and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

  • Strategic thinking with ability to develop and implement actionable plans to drive business results.

  • Five plus years consumer finance experience and related industry experience.

  • Familiarity with value proposition and/or new product development processes, from concept innovation through go-to-market execution.

  • Experience integrating new products within various channels and ecosystems.

  • Direct marketing experience with both acquisition and loyalty/lifecycle channels.

  • Demonstrated project management skills.

  • Experience managing customer loyalty programs.

  • Retail experience.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).

The salary range for this position is 115,000.00 - 230,000.00 USD Annual

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.
