Role Summary/Purpose:

This AVP, Mattress Firm Analytics role will be responsible for driving strategic insights and analytic thought leadership, to influence marketing strategies and profitable growth for our key Home & Auto portfolio, through developing data-driven insights and actionable analytic solutions. This role will be client facing, and will work closely with cross-functional leaders to provide both ad-hoc and strategic analyses, campaign design and tracking, segmentation and clustering, and retail analyses. This role reports directly to the VP, Mattress Firm Analytics Leader.

This position is remote, where you have the option to work from home. On occasion we may request for you to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events. Essential Responsibilities:

  • Identify actionable profit-based marketing and product opportunities through retail SKU transactional data analysis, customer journey and customer behavioral analysis, and data driven insights.

  • Partner with Marketing, Finance, Credit, and Sales cross-functional leaders to develop integrated solutions to grow share of wallet, credit penetration, incremental sales, and profit for Mattress Firm portfolio.

  • Develop business case presentations and execute action plans to drive marketing strategies around acquisition, early months on book, lifecycle, and retention-based strategies.

  • Deliver data driven insights including targeting recommendations, test design, channel optimization, product opportunities, and cost/benefit analysis to review with client, marketing and sales teams.

  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses, synthesize diverse and complex information to develop data-driven stories and to address business questions. Deliver high-quality execution of marketing analytics and MIS reporting.

  • Prepare campaign analytics to track results of strategies deployed in a timely manner. Create "test and learn" culture through ongoing assessment of product and targeting strategies.

  • Optimize ROI for digital initiatives including paid media (search, display, social), website optimization, new online capabilities, user experience testing, and add-on product sales.

  • Leverage advanced analytics techniques, statistical models, or machine learning tools to provide actionable insight to improve business decisions.

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma and 7+ years of analytical experience

  • A minimum of 3+ years progressive work experience, including:

  • 2+ years of experience analyzing and reporting data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions,

  • 2+ years of experience working on tasks or projects with cross functional partners such as Marketing and Sales,

  • 2+ years of experience with quantitative skills and ability to interpret data from multiple sources, including knowledge of analytical tools such as SAS, SQL, R, Python, Tableau, etc.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Proficient with Python, R, or data visualization tools such as Tableau is a strong plus

  • Advanced degree in statistics, data science, data analytics, industrial engineering is a strong plus

  • Master’s degree preferred statistics/ decision sciences/ predictive analytics or related quantitative field

  • Advanced skills using Excel and PowerPoint

  • Strong skill in project management, communications, multi-tasking, ability to work independently, and relationship management are keys to success

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complexity and multiple initiatives

  • Ability to perform ad-hoc analysis, glean and form business insights under aggressive timelines

  • Ability to synthesize/analyze diverse information, develop and recommend strategies, and articulate clearly to business partners and customers

  • Proven understanding of credit card or financial services industry financial P&L drivers and key sensitivities, with business performance reporting experience

  • Client facing experience

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).

The salary range for this position is 75,000.00 - 130,000.00 USD Annual

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.

Grade/Level: 10
