Kansas State University is a land-grant university with a student population of nearly 20,000, with additional campuses located in Salina and Olathe, Kansas. The main campus, located in Manhattan, Kansas, resides in a vibrant community of 56,000 located in the scenic Flint Hills of Northeast Kansas, just two hours west of Kansas City.\ \ The Division of Communications and Marketing (DCM) provides strategic communications and marketing leadership for Kansas State University. Our results-oriented team of experienced and talented professionals is responsible for helping the university to communicate with one voice on all three campuses, statewide, nationally and worldwide, in deeply-rooted support of the university\'s mission and values.\ \ The successful Video Producer candidate will:

  • Produce, record and edit recruitment and marketing videos for distribution on television, web and social media.
  • Consult with clients to develop video treatments, strategies, timelines and budgets.
  • Assist other video producers as needed.
  • Manage studio and location video recordings.
  • Maintain and operate audio, video and lighting equipment.
  • Manage and organize media assets and archiving.

  • Associate Degree and three years of relevant experience.
  • This position may use an educational equivalency as determined relevant by a hiring manager.

\ Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree or Certificate in video or media production.
  • A minimum of three (3) years progressive experience in video producing, videography and non-linear editing.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills with word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Experience creating and monitoring video production timelines and budgets.
  • Demonstrated excellent aesthetic judgement.
  • Bachelor\'s degree in related field.
  • Experience with client-based v deo production.
  • Experience in higher education environment.
  • Live multi-camera production experience.
  • Video scriptwriting experience.
  • Adobe Premiere Pro experience.
  • Adobe After Effects experience.
  • Adobe Photoshop experience.
  • Location audio and lighting experience.
