This full-time, nine-month term position will start August 4, 2024 with a competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Based on performance, this position is eligible to be converted to multi-year terms or a regularized position.\ \ Primary responsibilities are to teach applied cello (required) and bass (desired), as well as undergraduate music education courses as assigned. Additional opportunities are available based on needs of the School and could include teaching graduate string education courses, supervising music education interns, or any other needs that align with the area of expertise. This faculty member must demonstrate (or exhibit the potential for) research, scholarship, and creative activity relevant to their field and is expected to recruit for the string program. - An earned doctorate in music or music education (ABD candidates will be considered), or commensurate professional experience.
\ Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated success as a cello and/or double bass applied studio instructor.
- Minimum of 4 years of teaching experience in the K-12 music classroom.
\ Other Requirements:
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
