\ \ Research Assistant\ \ Department: 3670010080 Grain Science & Industry\ Job no: 516312\ Employment type: Staff Full Time (Unclassified - Term)\ Location: Manhattan, Kansas\ Worksite: On-site requirement\ Categories: Agriculture, Research / Scientific / Grants, Health & Safety, Food Safety/Science/Systems\ Pay Grade: 06B\ \ \ About This Role:\ Kansas State University Department of Grain Science and Industry is seeking a motivated, independent, and organized Research Assistant to conduct wheat quality and flour & dough tests, manage, and maintain lab equipment/instruments, train and supervise students and lab users, conduct research and fee-for-service projects, collect, and analyze data, prepare report, and perform other duties as requested by the PI. Work is performed on employer premises or designated assignment location.\ \ What You\'ll Need to Succeed:\ Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires a bachelor\'s degree.
\ Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor\'s or master\'s degree in Grain Science, Food Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or relevant disciplines.
- Experience in experimental milling, NIR, mixograph, farinograph, Mixolab, alveograph, falling number RVA, glutomatic, texture analyzer, test baking.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with grain, flour & dough testing.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
- Ability to conduct scholarly research and publish scientific papers.
