rAbout This Role:

The Carl R. Ice College of Engineering at Kansas State University (K-State) invites applications from outstanding individuals for two full-time, non-tenure-track, professors of practice. The appointments will focus on the development of interdisciplinary engineering education and design programs that assist with growing engineering opportunities in the state of Kansas.

+ Develop and implement an interdisciplinary capstone design course that integrates students from different degree programs into design project teams.

+ Teach undergraduate engineering design courses, relevant to experience.

+ Help expand and maintain experiential learning opportunities within the college, including co-curricular and extracurricular opportunities with Kansas engineering firms and manufacturers.

+ Coordinate college internship program.

+ Assist with college of engineering student recruitment and enrollment.

+ Develop mutually beneficial relationships with industry.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree in any engineering field or closely related technical degree.

+ More than 10 years of practical engineering experience.

+ Qualifications, by virtue of education, licensure and/or design experience, to teach design courses.

+ Excellent written and oral communication skills.

+ Demonstrated project management experiences across engineering disciplines.

+ Leadership roles in engineering or related professional organizations.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Master's degree in engineering, business administration or another related discipline.

+ Record of professional publications and presentations.

+ Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Other Requirements:

+ Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United Sta es at the time of employment
