To provide material support to all production departments. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Make stock withdrawals from warehouse to appropriate machine centers. • Keep production departments adequately supplied with skids, reels, packaging supplies, etc. • Load and unload vulcanizer, handling reels in and out of operations. • Perform the job of checking off vulcanization charts for heat and time needed for proper curing of the hose. • Set completed hose to proper staging area. • Perform some light maintenance such as checking oil, water, and battery in forklift. • Take physical inventories as required. • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of receiving dock, warehouse, and as needed as a result of moving materials. • Be able to operate material handling vehicles. • Be able to respond to the needs of the operating departments. • Prepare and complete associated paperwork. • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Value Stream Team Lead. DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment. Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately. 2. Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner. 3. Maintain production schedules. 4. Work with groups in initiating and implementation of programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S. 5. Other duties may be assigned at a later time
