REPORTS TO:District ESOL Coordinator

JOB GOAL: Assist and support student learning.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Works with individual or small groups of students, at various times in the day, to increase language proficiency in English.
2. Aides individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the classroom teacher.
3. Provides accommodation, as stated in the students individual learning plan, during lessons, activities, quizzes and exams.
4. Supports classroom teachers through scaffolding and modifying lessons and activities as directed by the students individual learning plan.
5. Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of teachers.
6. Follows a flexible schedule, based on student need.
7. Communicates and works well with various teachers and support staff within the school setting.
8. Performs other duties as assigned by the ESOL teacher.
