This job was posted by https://www.kansasworks.com : For more information, please see: https://www.kansasworks.com/ada/r/jobs/10929472 Overview About This Role:This position provides continuing support of all software and hardware systems and general IT support in a shared services model for the College of Agriculture Dean's Office, KCARE Office, Agriculture Academic Programs Office, Agriculture Safety Office, International Programs Office, Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Programs Office, Proposal Services Office, the Department of Entomology, as well as the Management Entity Offices for the three Feed the Future USAID Innovation Labs (Sustainable Intensification Innovation Lab (SIIL), Sorghum and Millet Innovation Lab (SMIL), and the Post-Harvest Lost Innovation Lab (PHL or PHIL).Job Responsibilities:Provide general IT and desk-top support by resolving all computer hardware and software problems and training end users as needed on new hardware and software applications. The majority of this work is conducted during regular business hours. However, an "on-call" availability is required in order to solve emergency problems both locally and to employees who are traveling domestically or internationally.Anticipate software and hardware needs and be proactive in resolving the issues before they become apparent and/or effect the users. Also responsible for making equipment recommendations that are affordable and suitable to the staff needs.Responsible for computer security on all department and personal computer equipmentEnsure all equipment complies with University Policy at all times with special emphasis on shared equipment that is lent to employees who are traveling. Serve as the CLER security officer facilitating CLER security access for KSU personnel who process federal benefit payments to USDA, National Finance Center.Design, evaluate, implement and update a system of file servers and application servers, which are protected and secure for department storage needs.Serve as an active member of appropriate standing and ad-hoc committee/team related to IT mattersImprove/maintain knowledge through professional development and remain current on industry standards and trends both within and outside the academic world.We Support Diversity and Inclusion:Kansas State University embraces diversity and promotes inclusion in every sector of the institution.
