Description Apply now to join Maize USD 266in January 2024. We are hiring for special education
openingsin both high and low incidence classrooms.
Maize has a lot to offer teachers new to the district and those new to the profession. All new
teachers are matched with a qualified mentor and both the mentor and mentee are supported
by our team of Student Support Specialists and Instructional Coaches. New teachers also
participate in 8 half day professional development opportunities throughout the school year.
Our teachers are encouraged to continue to learn and grow. We offer a professional learning
series that qualifies for college credits.
Special Education teachers in Kansas are required tohave a special education endorsement. If
you are not already endorsed,you may qualify to work on a waiver while pursuing your
endorsement. The district provides tuition reimbursement options to assist teachersin obtaining
their endorsement.
Safe and well maintained facilities are another great feature found in the Maize district. The
intermediate, middle, and high schools all have school resource officers, and all schools have
physical safety features built in. The two intermediate schools are in their second year and
were designed to allow amazing collaboration. The district also recently opened an aquatics and
performing arts center that houses our staff workout facility.
MaizeUSD 266 and the Renwick USD 267 work cooperatively to servestudents receiving special
services.
