Custodians play an important part in maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe environment assuring the proper operation of all facilities. We are currently seekingsubstitute custodiansthat will be on call to fill in when a full-time custodian is out for an extended period of time. Assignments may be 3 days to 12 weeks.\ \ A Day in the Life:
- Assists with opening the building in order for students and staff to begin the school day, for example, unlock doors, raise flag, pick up trash, turn on lights, etc.
- Helps maintain cleanliness of the building including washing windows, picking up trash, cleaning bathrooms and drinking fountains, and mopping floors when necessary.
- Repairs building and equipment as assigned to assure equipment is operational for students and staff.
- Sets up and removes equipment as needed for daily activities such as lunch, special activities and evening programs.
- Provides crossing guard duties in order to ensure students, parents, and staff are able to cross the street safely.
- Helps receive deliveries and dispenses of the equipment/supplies/furniture in their appropriate places.
- Assists with closing the building in order to ensure the building is secure and utility costs are minimized.
- Maintains confidentiality as appropriate in order to comply with district, state and federal laws.
- Performs other duties as assigned in order to ensure a clean, orderly, and safe environment.
- Assists with special projects such as putting together new furniture, painting walls, completing repairs, and doing major repairs during summer months and at times when school is not in session.
- Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies for the purpose of re-locating classrooms.
- Supervises students, as needed, in order to ensure their safety.
- Communicate effectively

- Can spend 90% of their day walking and 10% standing Time is spent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- Maintain regular and acceptable attendance/punctuality
