JOB SUMMARY

Discipline: Test/Reliability

The Test Engineer will be responsible for the analysis and interpretation of developmental tests for new and modified products and product components.

The individual selected will also perform standard engineering assignments usually representing a significant portion of a larger project. This position will also be responsible for selecting engineering techniques to solve problems and make design recommendations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze and interpret engineering design and test specifications for testing sub and final assembly products.

  • Translate engineering design and test specifications into a test system utilizing good engineering best practices.

  • Design and develop test stands to test oxygen products.

  • Support both new program development projects through test stand development.

  • Maintain Legacy production test systems.

  • Participates as a team member in a specific phase of a broad engineering assignment.

  • Develop and/or directs preparation of supporting test stand design documentation and software programs.

  • Defines the project plan and ensures successful completion of the assigned phase within the budgeted time and cost constraints.

  • Coordinates the procurement of components, sub-systems, and entire systems as needs dictate.

  • Perform validation studies of test equipment/systems using industry standard statistical analysis methods.

  • Hands on building equipment/test equipment

  • Trouble shooting test equipment

  • Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from four-year college or university; and one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical/controls Engineering

  • Experience with pneumatic flow

  • Experience with designing test equipment

  • Experience with Logic Controller programming

  • Working knowledge of LabView

  • Understanding wiring diagrams

  • Familiarity with design ownership of product life-cycle including initial concept through production and product support.

  • Experience with designing mechanical components and assemblies with an emphasis on manufacturability, reliability and maintainability.

  • Proficient in preparing, modifying and releasing drawings created in CAD (Unigraphics, Solidworks, Pro-E, and Catia) to verify fit, form and function of mechanical designs.

  • Ability to verify structural acceptability of designs by testing prototypes for reliability and FAA certification.

  • Utilize engineering tools such as FMEAs, FEA, and DFMA to validate design content.

  • Familiarity with mechanical designs involving pressurization, fluids or valves.
