How will you make an impact?

The facilities and utilities supervisor will be primarily responsible for managing the maintenance technicians that support utilities and facilities across 6 buildings that comprise the overall Lenexa Camus through PM and Work Order execution and daily support of emergency maintenance needs. Maintenance staff will consist of approximately 6 technicians. This role will also manage annual outside service contracts including but not limited to utility equipment maintenance, waste management, landscaping, snow removal, life safety system testing, and bulk production gas distribution.

What will you do?

Support maintenance activities for site utility and facility services and supervise staff of 6 individuals along with outside contractor resources.

  • Oversee design, implementation and troubleshooting of manufacturing and system support equipment.

  • Support production in reducing / eliminating equipment and tooling downtime or scrap, utilizing good analytical methodologies.

  • Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives through PPI program.

  • Execute Engineering Design Reviews (EDR) for existing design changes, costing, validation requirements and final implementation.

  • Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformance relating to product, or processes and systems.

  • Execute capital and expense projects as assigned.

  • Any additional responsibility deemed necessary by management

How will you get here?

Education

Minimum of an Associate's Degree.

Prefer Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years related experience in facility, utility and manufacturing or assembly processes.

  • Working knowledge of mechanical and utility processes and equipment. Specifically with boilers, chillers, HVAC, compressed air and RO water systems.

  • Experience designing, operating, troubleshooting, or maintaining complex utility machinery for both mechanics and electronics.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Maintenance/Engineering supervision

  • Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma theory and practices is desirable

  • Strong skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint) with the ability to learn new systems and tools quickly

  • Good mechanical / technical skills

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment

  • Possess excellent leadership & teamwork abilities, and organizational skills

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • CAD experience (AutoCAD) is desirable
