APTIM Senior Sustainability Manager in Lenexa, Kansas


APTIM is looking for a Senior Sustainability Manager to lead, scope, and coordinate sustainability program opportunities across APTIM's commercial client portfolio. This role is a key element of APTIM's growth strategy to expand our sustainability, resiliency, and climate change consultancy services to our customers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the sustainability, resiliency, and environmental, climate change growth strategy development, including materiality assessments, research, and action planning.

  • Assist with implementation of the marketing/communications strategy for sustainability to broaden the brand both internally and externally.

  • Develop and expand client relationships that generate repeat business to grow. Lead and partner with clients in developing sustainability strategies.

  • Deep understanding of current sustainability challenges in the retail/consumer goods industry with proven track record of providing solutions to clients.

  • Leverage existing relationships to support the growth of Sustainability and ESG opportunities throughout North America.

  • Prepare proposals and participate in business development with existing clients and identified leads.

  • Assist with developing a Sustainability Practice team to support client needs.

  • Build and support relationships with regulatory entities, vendors and product/service companies.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in sustainability, environmental policy, climate change, planning, civil engineering or related field. Master's Degree preferred

  • 10+ years' experience in Consultancy specifically around the Sustainability and ESG capability area

  • Experienced in sustainability and/or climate resilience planning

  • Experienced with the design and implementation of sustainability programs such as energy, waste, and chemical use

  • Leadership experience including business development, proposal development, and project management

  • ENV SP, LEED AP, WELL AP, TRUE Advisor, or other sustainability-related accreditations are a plus

  • Knowledge of GHG Protocol and general corporate sustainability reporting topics.

  • Good understanding of sustainability topics including climate resilience, emerging technologies and renewables, zero waste planning and implementation

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
