GBA Builders is dedicated to building the critical environments common in the pharmaceutical, biotech, mission critical and other regulated industries. We provide pre-construction consulting, general contracting, design-build and construction management at risk services. GBA Builders is headquartered in Lenexa, Kansas (Kansas City Metro) with field offices throughout the United States.

This position will support projects across the U.S. Prior project management experience in regulated environments will be key to success in this role. Project experience working with the Federal Government (USACE, VA, GSA, USDA, Air Force, etc.) is encouraged but not required. The ability to travel occasionally will be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Be part of a Design-Build or CM@Risk team to develop projects and see them through from preconstruction to closeout
  • Interact with clients and design team as needed to resolve issues and expedite the project
  • Estimating assistance during preconstruction and during bidding phases
  • Review project estimates with operations team (field and office) to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Quality control reviews of design documents and field reviews
  • Schedule development, evaluations and updates
  • Establish project budgets and forecast budgets to project completion
  • Project bidding and buyout with both negotiated and hard bid projects
  • Writing subcontract scopes of work and initiating subcontracts
  • Safety enforcement when on project site
  • Strong fundamental knowledge of the construction project cycle.
  • Willingness and ability to run a project or project(s) for a given client from bidding buyout phase through completion and closeout phases and act as the main point of contact for the client.
  • Subcontractor & Vendor management from contracting to contract closeout.
  • Financial oversight and management of the project budget.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Construction Science and Management
  • At least 6 years of project management experience
  • Partnership approach to working with architects and engineers
  • MS Office Suite knowledge and excellent computer skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player
  • Self-motivation and time management skills
