As a Passenger Oxygen Systems Quality Engineer embedded within a Production Value Stream, you’ll be a high-value participant on cross-functional teams, bringing Quality skills and expertise to drive issue resolution and will also frequently interface with internal and external customer. This role is a 1st Shift opportunity while working both independently as well as within IPTs.
Must be able to work in Lenexa, KS and travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.
Primary Responsibilities
Ensures that Quality Management System processes and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contracts.
Participate within Quality Clinics to diagnose and mitigate product non-conformities identified internally and externally.
Performs quality escape management procedures, root cause analysis, and recommends corrective/preventive actions (MRB) for design problems for internally produced products & processes.
Create and modify Quality Plans for application to subassemblies and major assemblies.
Analyze Quality data and manufacturing processes to drive continuous improvement and preventative action initiatives to reduce quality costs, through the implementation of mistake proofing.
Demonstrate product knowledge within area of focus including product intent and installation methodologies within customer platforms.
Interface with shop floor assemblers and support staff, with multiple levels of leadership, as well as with the customer.
Utilize statistical data to monitor process stability and develop sampling plans.
Prepare and present reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; making recommendations.
Supports internal, customer, and third-party audits. Conducts internal product audits.
Identifies and manages risk in product development primarily utilizing and driving APQP & PPAP core elements (e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow, Control Plans, and FAI etc.).
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of prior relevant experience OR
In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required
Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiar with AS9100 (QMS) and AS9102 (FAI) processes
Knowledge of RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action) methodology
Basic understanding of Lean Principles
Experience with MS Office Suite, especially Word and Excel
Able to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally
