Hostess Brands, LLC, is a large packaged food company focused on developing, manufacturing, marketing, selling and distributing fresh baked sweet goods in the United States such as Ding Dongs®, Ho Hos®, Donettes® and Fruit Pies, in addition to Twinkies®, Coffee Cakes, Cupcakes, Voortman’s Cookies and Wafers.

Hostess Brands is seeking a Procurement Analyst. The Procurement Analysts key role in the supply chain management process is to serve as the liaison between Hostess Brands, LLC and vendors. The duties involve sourcing and vetting vendors, negotiating contracts, presenting deals to decision makers and provide reporting and spend analysis to senior leadership.

  • Develops a plan to drive value for their category based on an understanding of business unit needs, the supply market, spend baseline and evolution, and benchmarking.

  • Research, select, develop, and maintain adequate sources of supply to ensure that the requirements of the category are met.

  • Balance strategy development with the tactical execution necessary to execute cost reduction projects through contract negotiation, process changes, and implementation of sustainable cost controls.

  • Analyze and execute various strategic sourcing levers that can be utilized to reduce Total Cost of Ownership and Total Landed Cost for the assigned goods and services utilizing appropriate financial models.

  • Analyze market and supply dynamics related to supplier proposals to develop a matrix of negotiation scenarios.

  • Engage business leaders to align on acceptable negotiation outcomes.

  • Lead the development of risk analyses, assessments, and mitigation plans for their category.

  • Manage the ongoing performance of suppliers.

  • Act as the subject matter expert (SME) on assigned procurement processes.

  • Monitoring process performance.

  • Facilitating resolution of escalations.

  • Leading problem solving to address identified gaps.

  • Participating in systems testing.

  • Delivering training to colleagues, end-users, other internal customers, and suppliers.

  • Challenging existing practices and leading projects to execute improvement to standardize and streamline processes.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • 3-5 years, experience in Consumer-Packaged goods or food production industry preferred

  • Prior exposure to supporting and working with executive senior management

  • Superior organizational skills with the ability to effectively set priorities, monitor divisional compliance and consistently follow-up

  • Presentation experience – develop, analyze, and skillfully present business and marketing materials

  • Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel & PowerPoint

  • Effectively communicate goals and objectives throughout all levels of the Hostess organization

  • Uses strong analytical and critical thinking skills to evaluate opportunities and build alignment and value-adding relationships

  • Ability to communicate ideas in a professional manner

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Excellent mentoring, coaching, and people management skills


  • Ability to travel 30%
