Oracle PRN Medical Assistant in Lenexa, Kansas

Job Description

Provide outstanding clinical care by executing administrative and clinical tasks on an as needed basis in a team environment.

Treat acute and chronic disease management and promote wellness and illness prevention through direct member care for all ages as directed by a provider

Take member vitals, input member symptoms into an electronic medical record, collect laboratory specimens and administer immunization/shots

Communicate medical knowledge in lay-person terms to enhance patient education and understanding of acute, chronic and progressive disease processes

Prepare equipment, members and providers for office-based procedures and testing

Schedule follow-up appointments, referrals, and diagnostic testing and obtain member records to ensure the continuity of care

Follow established policies and procedures to work in clinic environment involving possible exposure to potentially hazardous materials and situations that require safety precautions and may include use of personnel protective equipment

Responsibilities

Join our team as a PRN Medical Assistant for our on-site health center for a large, local employer in Lenexa, KS!

As a PRN Medical Assistant, you will treat acute and chronic disease management and promote wellness and illness prevention through direct member care for all ages as directed by a provider. You will also take member vitals, input member symptoms into an electronic medical record, collect laboratory specimen and administer immunizations/shots. You will also communicate medical knowledge in lay-person terms to enhance patient education and understanding of acute, chronic and progressive disease processes, prepare equipment, members and providers for office-based procedures and testing and schedule follow-up appointments, referrals and diagnostic testing and obtain member records to ensure the continuity of care. Lastly, you will follow established policies and procedures to work in clinic environment involving possible exposure to potentially hazardous materials and situations that require safety precautions and may include use of personnel protective equipment. Basic Qualifications

  • At least 2 years total combined related work experience and completed higher education, including:

  • At least 1-year direct patient or member care work experience

  • At least 1-year additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job and/or completed higher education

  • High School Diploma

  • Accredited Medical Assistant Program completion or Certified Medical Assistant

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – Multiple Issuers

Expectations

  • Willing to work on a flexible schedule as needed

  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations

  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromis4es of security within scope of position

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated location(s)

New York City Pay Range: from $17.02 to $28.99 per hour; from $35,400 to $60,300 per annum.

Colorado Pay Range: from $15.24 to $27.50 per hour; from $31,700 to $57,200 per annum.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
