job summary:

A Manufacturing Engineer is needed for one of the world's largest suppliers of aerospace and defense products in the Lenexa, KS area. This role involves performing a wide range of manufacturing engineering tasks, including process improvement, design, troubleshooting, and quality assurance, while also utilizing lean principles and advanced software tools to enhance efficiency and reduce costs in production operations.

work hours: 8am to 4pm

education: Bachelors

responsibilities:

  • Perform Manufacturing Engineering assignments under general direction and supervision.

  • Use Design for Manufacturing (DFM) Techniques to assist Product Engineering in developing new products and redesigning existing ones.

  • Develop routings and labor standards and update the ERP System.

  • Write and/or modify manufacturing work instructions and acceptance test procedures.

  • Plan the sequence of operations and procedures, and document manufacturing standard work and routing.

  • Design systems, processes, and equipment to increase efficiency, decrease costs, and improve product quality and reliability.

  • Design tools and fixtures for production and acceptance testing.

Desired Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

  • AutoCAD 2D experience required.

  • Experience with Fluid Power and Mechanical Systems, and Lean Manufacturing Principles.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical data.

  • strong analytical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.

  • Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Siemens NX experience preferred.
