Job Summary

This position is responsible for leading affinity groups and related projects, providing opportunities for children’s hospital participants to share knowledge, learn together, and advance pediatric health care. Primary responsibilities include development of an annual curriculum of content delivered through various venues - in-person meetings, virtual sessions, webcasts, conference calls, and projects that help inform performance improvement and enable growth in thinking and learning. The role requires advanced critical thinking skills as a primary connector role that informs and connects member hospital participants to CHA resources and information beyond the forum in which they primarily participate.

Essential duties and responsibilities


  • Creates annual program objectives and refines target audience participants to develop a comprehensive curriculum for the forum/affinity group(s).

  • Leads curriculum development, and organizes and facilitates forum/affinity group curriculum via in-person meetings, virtual sessions, teleconferences, webcasts, and projects, including, but not limited to:

  • Identifying topics and speakers

  • Determining programming and appropriate venue for delivery

  • Developing meeting agendas

  • Communicating with on projects, upcoming events, and CHA messaging

  • Managing contracts and negotiations with external speakers

  • Reviewing and coordinating presentations

  • Creating and delivering presentations

  • Facilitating meetings

  • Recruiting participants into the forum/affinity groups and related activities

  • Identifying, planning, and leading projects

  • Leading teleconferences, virtual sessions, and webcasts

  • Managing a budget

  • Manages forum/affinity group screening, enrollment, and participation

  • Develops and builds strong relationships with participants and external consultants to further forum goals and objectives

  • Works collaboratively across CHA business areas to connect CHA products and services to participants and to leverage program knowledge to inform collaboration among children’s hospitals


  • Develops and implements project work plan, timeline, and tracking of tasks to ensure execution of key milestones and deliverables

  • Manages the collection, aggregation, and dissemination of data and educational resources

  • Engages and recruits members to participate in projects/events

  • Develops project and event agendas

  • Facilitates project meetings and events


  • Fosters a collaborative work spirit across the organization by facilitating problem solving and collaboration

  • Works with colleagues across the organization to realize CHA vision

  • Takes initiative to own, coordinate and lead projects and tasks with the team to achieve results; informally leading by example and influence

  • Consistently communicates organizational objectives, initiatives, and issues to both internal and external audiences

  • Identifies and implements systems to streamline and gain efficiencies in work processes

  • Participates in departmental planning and offers ideas to help meet children’s hospitals’ needs

  • Supports and executes office procedures and protocols in accordance with organizational policies

  • Serves as project lead by coordinating team tasks on project plans and ensuring timelines are met

Required Experience:



  • Bachelor’s Degree in business/healthcare required

  • Master’s degree preferred/Health Care Administration or Public Administration

Experience and Special Skills:

  • Knowledge of the health care industry - minimum 5 years’ experience in health care or related field

  • Excellent project management and facilitation skills

  • Ability to work independently and in team environments

  • Ability to work with a diverse resource base/interact with individuals at all levels

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to prepare and present information in varied mediums

  • Ability to manage, organize and prioritize projects

  • Knowledge of software including Microsoft Office, Teams, and ZOOM applications

  • Extensive periods of sitting and keyboard/computer work

  • Communicates in person, via email and over the phone

  • May on occasion be required to lift packages up to 25 lbs.
