Job Title: Industrial EngineerJob Description

This position is for an Industrial Engineer who applies industrial engineering concepts, techniques, analysis, and decision tools to promote and implement changes in manufacturing and service operations. The role involves designing simple assembly lines and sequences of operations, checking the manufacturability of existing products, and implementing manufacturing processes and changes to improve products and reduce costs.

Responsibilities

  • Improve facilities layout of production floor space to maximize utilization of equipment considering economic factors, process flow, and operator efficiency and comfort.

  • Update manufacturing documentation such as Work Instructions and Standard Work to capture the best sequence of steps to manufacture a conforming product.

  • Perform Manufacturing Process Reviews to capture tribal knowledge from seasoned technicians into manufacturing documents.

  • Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials, and parts.

  • Audit manufacturability of existing products and recommend modifications to address quality, customer, product, or productivity constraints.

  • Involve in Line Balancing (Time studies, Operator Load Cell, Process Flow) and Lean Manufacturing (VSM, Kaizen, Kanban, One Piece Flow, Material Presentation, Visual Management) projects.

  • Lead root cause analysis for product quality concerns.

  • Determine the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow and establish methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.

  • Prepare cost estimates for proposed projects and provide cost-benefit analysis by evaluating cost factors and schedules.

  • Maintain awareness of state-of-the-art technology and its applicability to improve the company's competitive position.

  • Develop solutions to various industrial engineering problems.

  • Develop tools to aid manufacturing, process improvement, or address safety concerns.

  • Research new processes, methods, and equipment to achieve continuous improvement in assigned areas of the factory.

  • Design, develop, and improve station loading/line balancing.

  • Create and maintain a factory staffing plan based on sales demand.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of prior relevant experience OR in the absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required

  • Demonstrates the ability to follow through with work assignments and support management's policies and procedures

  • Ability to provide the status of work assignments at any time and quickly produce documentation or information as needed

  • Proficiency in using various software packages to maintain and update documents and records

  • Ability to develop plans aligned with corporate policies and budgets

  • Compassionate attitude toward the needs of others

  • Maintains a daily to-do list to prioritize schedule

  • Must be a United States citizen

  • Experience with SAP routings

  • AutoCAD 2D experience

  • Preferred experience in Root Cause Analysis and Line Balancing

  • Preferred Lean Manufacturing experience

  • Proficiency in SAP, MS Office, and Excel

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily on-site at the production facility, with a mix of office work and time spent on the production floor. The culture is one of 'work hard, play hard,' where everyone contributes to reaching the end goal. The team size is currently unknown. The dress code allows for slacks or jeans with a polo or button-down shirt. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.50 - $36.50
