This is an opportunity to be a part of a world-class test facility (Lenexa Engineering Test Lab) providing test services for industry leading aircraft interior products. This position is responsible for supporting Environmental Qualification, as well as Research and Development (R&D) test activities on both new and existing Interior Systems Products.
Primary Responsibilities:
Will include setting up, conducting, and documenting various Environmental and R&D tests on Interior Products including:
Electrical Testing
Power Quality Testing
Vibration
Humidity
Temperature and Altitude
Waterproofness
Operational Shocks and Crash Safety
Fire/Flammability
Acoustic
Magnetic Effect Testing
Reliability Testing
EMI/EMC testing as needed
Functional Checks
Other Unique Testing
Additional Responsibilities Include:
Supporting engineering in review of electrical diagrams/drawings
Supporting engineering by evaluating and troubleshooting PCBs and other electronic devices
Review and provide feedback to engineering regarding test procedures and setups for future improvement of test methods.
Equipment error/fault troubleshooting and management
Data reduction, analysis, data documentation, and report writing
Logistical coordination
5S and organization of the lab environment.
Basic Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship is required.
AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
In the absence of AA/AS degree, 10 years relevant experience is required.
Must be able to apply electronics knowledge to test and troubleshoot at component level.
Must have experience in troubleshooting and problem solving.
Must be a self-starter and exhibit excellent attention to detail.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
Able to follow detailed procedures and work with limited direction when necessary.
Must have good organizational skills and the ability to multitask and set priorities as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
Desired candidate would possess a background in electronics or electrical engineering support.
Soldering experience is a plus.
Proficiency in the use of oscilloscopes, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, frequency counters, and power measurement equipment a plus.
Familiar with RTCA DO-160(x), MIL-STD 461, MIL-STD 810, and OEM environmental test requirements such as Boeing and Airbus.
Previous experience in a testing environment.
Able to analyze, interpret, and record test data for R&D and certification testing.
Previous experience in the use of MS Office products to include Word and Excel to document testing / results.
Able to utilize or program automated test software (Experience with LabVIEW or Python software would be a plus).
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to perform typical physical activities of the job: including walking, standing, lifting, or moving test equipment and test units for the full duration of the shift.
Testing and troubleshooting of exposed/live electrical circuits.
Testing using nitrogen and oxygen as a physical medium using pressures up to 5000 psi.
Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
