Robert Half is searching for an energetic Controller to join a reputable services company. This leadership role oversees an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, manages the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, analyzes accounting and internal control systems, and guides departmental staff. Your responsibilities
Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Capable of handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties
Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required
Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation
Assess deliverables of self and team to verify they meet client expectations
Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management
Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection
Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports
Requirements - Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
Candidate must possess first-rate analytical, quantitative and social skills
Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued
10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Excellent communication and organizational skills
CPA/MBA preferred
Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
General ledger experience desired
