Description & Requirements

Jack Henry & Associates, a leading provider of technology solutions and payment processing services primarily for the financial services industry, is hiring an Accountant to join the Finance Department, working specifically within our Revenue Recognition team. This high-functioning team of 10 individuals ensures that revenue and costs are recognized and reflected in our monthly reports. This is a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and the ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, an eye for process improvements, and a desire to work collaboratively within and outside their team.

Jack Henry provides strong opportunity for career progression not only within Accounting, Finance & Procurement, but across the organization as well. There is a high likelihood that this role will evolve into one focused on both external reporting and revenue.

This position can be based to work out of Springfield, MO, Lenexa, KS, or Allen, TX, or remote from any US location within the Central Time Zone. This is an hourly position with competitive pay and outstanding benefits.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.

  • Must have a minimum of 18 months of experience in general ledger accounting, revenue recognition, accounts payable, and/or accounts receivable.

  • Experience with GAAP.

  • Must be able to travel up to 5% for team meetings and trainings.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficient skills using Microsoft Excel to work with pivot tables, formulas, V-lookups.

  • Experience with internal SOX controls.

  • Experience with ASC 606.

  • Experience with PeopleSoft, RevPro, or similar accounting systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Prepares standard and specialized financial reports (e.g., balance sheets, income statements) according to generally accepted accounting procedures.

  • Performs financial analyses to summarize current and projected company financial position.

  • Monitors and develops monthly reports of revenues and expenditures for projects. Provides record of assets, liabilities and other financial transactions.

  • Performs general ledger coding.

  • Assists other departments, vendors, and customers in resolving accounting issues by doing research, determining the best approach to resolution, and communicating results.

  • Applies company policies and procedures to assist other team members with daily questions and issues.

  • Reconciles general ledger accounts.
