Description & Requirements

Jack Henry & Associates, a leading provider of technology solutions and payment processing services primarily for the financial services industry; is hiring an Accountant II team member to join our new Centralized Accounting team. This accounting team, provides accounting support to Financial Business Partners in various Lines of Business within Jack Henry & Associates. Under moderate supervision, you will assist the accounting team in preparing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, financial reports for analysis and/or tracking’s in accordance to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX). This position can be based to work out of any of the following Jack Henry office locations: Springfield, MO (Montclair) / Monett, MO / Allen, TX or Lenexa, KS.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years accounting experience.

  • Must have Excel experience.

  • Must be able to travel up to 5% to attend meetings, training, and/or visits to other Jack Henry office locations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree

  • CPA.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and Teams

  • General Accounting Concepts

Essential Functions

  • Prepare monthly recurring and as requested journal entries such as accruals, amortizations, or reclasses

  • Prepare workpapers or schedules with documentation that is supportive of financial statement audits

  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and timely identify, research, and clear reconciling items

  • Prepares standard and specialized financial reports (e.g., balance sheets, income statements, budgets) according to generally accepted accounting procedures.

  • Performs financial analyses to summarize current and projected company financial position.

  • Monitors and develops monthly reports of revenues and expenditures for projects. Provides record of assets, liabilities and other financial transactions.

  • Performs general ledger coding.

  • Assists other departments, vendors, and customers in resolving accounting issues by doing research, determining the best approach to resolution, and communicating results.

  • Applies company policies and procedures to assist other team members with daily questions and issues.

  • Reconciles general ledger accounts.

  • May provide work direction, technical assistance, and answer questions for less experienced accounting staff.

  • Coordinates and assists in annual budget process, including training and reporting.

  • Reviews month-end allocation and prepaid expense entries.

  • May assist in monthly forecasting processes.
