Conduent Content Knowledge Manager (Proposal Baseline Editor) in Lebanon, Kansas

The mission of the Proposal Development Center's Content Team is to create and maintain best-in-class, compelling content to support proposal writers in responding to the value Conduent's products and services bring to their clients. Our strategy is to:

  • Create and maintain easy and intuitive access to high-quality baseline content

  • Apply consistent writing style standards for unified voice across content and business areas

  • Create narratives that are client-centric, concise, and compelling

  • Improve the quality and accuracy of the content with which proposal teams start, resulting in more time for customizing responses, developing graphics, and polishing content

  • Build strong relationships with internal customers to ensure quality measures are met

We are looking for a candidate who has strong editing and writing experience with volumes of detailed material, including the ability to evaluate proposal responses for appropriate baseline content; to revise content as generic, writer-ready copy; to publish content and index it appropriately in the proposal library; and to train users in effectively using baseline material. The selected candidate will be assigned a primary business area with which to work.

Functional Description:

  • Compelling Content Development

  • Edit and rewrite narrative so that it is client-centric, concise, and compelling

  • Follow Conduent, departmental, and project standards for tone of voice and writing style

  • Interview Subject Matter Experts as needed to obtain needed information

  • Review visual elements and graphics in baseline content and make suggestions for improvement and/or suggest areas where adding new graphics and visual elements may improve baseline quality for future proposals

  • Store and tag text and image files (i.e., graphics, screenshots, pictures) in accordance with project processes and metadata guidelines

  • Maintenance of Baseline Content

  • Conduct ongoing quality control of baseline both in progress and after completion

  • Review baseline based upon expiration date or new solutions and revise as necessary

  • Meet with the Content Management team to discuss ongoing initiatives such as indexing and metadata reviews, updated corporate information pertinent to the business area, and content that can be used across business area

  • Participate in training of new and existing users of the library

  • Proposal Business Area Knowledge

  • Become a subject matter expert (SME) on the solutions, services, and products of your assigned business area

  • Maintain a strong knowledge of evolving regulations and emerging industry trends in your assigned business area

  • Understand the market landscape and leverage competitor intelligence to enhance content positioning

  • Relationship Management

  • Coordinate and manage relationships with the assigned lines of business to acquire and manage updates to content

  • Serve as a resource on available baseline content to proposal, sales, and business staff, responding to requests for information and assisting users with locating content

Education, Experience and Capabilities

  • A Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Business, or similar field

  • Five years of public sector domain writing (e.g., marketing, technical, or proposal writing)

  • Background in child support, eligibility & enrollment, and federal & state services and solutions is preferred.

  • Background in PBM, healthcare, Medicaid and Medicare management programs supporting clinical support, disease management and member and patient solutions across the healthcare system.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Demonstrated strong liaison, interpersonal, and communication skills, including the ability to build relationships across a range of professional or disciplinary areas

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with initiative, work collaboratively as part of a team, set priorities, and balance the demands of a complex working environment

  • Comfortable with interviewing SMEs and coordinating requests for information

  • Experience and working knowledge of applying formatting and text styles in Microsoft Word

  • Experience with proposal baseline or a content library is a plus

  • Experience with public sector system functionality, public sector operations, or technical system infrastructure is a plus

  • Experience with Shipley or Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) is a plus

  • Experience in new business development, including proposal preparation, is preferred

  • Must be proficient in latest versions of MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and SharePoint.
