Travel: Approximately 5-7 days local travel per year
This position serves primarily as strategist for the National Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Medical Students educational programming and as manager of the operations of the National Congress of Family Medicine Residents and National Congress of Student Members. This position also supports the AAFP governance process by serving as the Staff Executive to the Subcommittee for National Conference Planning of the Commission on Education. In addition, this position supports experimental learning activities in MED that enhance the quantity and quality of the family medicine workforce.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree or knowledge acquired through equivalent work experience, plus a minimum of six years related work experience. A successful candidate should have experience overseeing budgets and educational programming, with strong experience in problem resolution and process optimization. The position requires strong interpersonal and customer service skills, as well as strong verbal and written skills to professionally interact with medical students, residents, and active physicians via phone, email, in small group presentations, and while at meetings and conferences. Ability to work independently, effectively organize work, flexibility to handle multiple tasks, frequent interruptions and changing priorities required.
