Summary

Job Description

This role will be a key asset in the future growth of the organization. This individual will be leading the Financial Planning & Analysis function and will be spear-heading the organization’s financial results analysis including providing robust operating plan variance analysis, trend analysis, leading the development of a Key Performance Indicator scorecard and dashboard reporting thereon, involved in the annual operating budget and 3 year financial forecasts and other special projects. S/he will provide financial consulting and strategic support to senior management including preparing board presentations, management financial presentations, capital expenditure analysis, industry/peer group comparisons, new business opportunities, acquisition analysis and other projects requested by senior management. This function acts as the analytical engine of the organization to provide insight and support “optimal” business decision making. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and may manage 2-5 team members from the Financial Planning & Analysis team.

Specific aspects would include:

  • Manage key financial processes, including forecasting, performance reporting and others.

  • Architect financial commentaries and documents to support key financial deliverables.

  • Develop new processes or streamline existing processes relating to financial planning/reporting.

  • Develop and report metrics to track team-specific and organization-wide trends, identify opportunities, clearly communicate recommendations, and collaborate across all levels of the organization.

  • Report progress toward organization and department-specific financial goals and metrics.

  • Ensure business partners have the information they need to meet financial goals and in some cases, help them build tools to achieve improved results.

  • Apply an analytical approach to influence strategic decision making, with a focus on capital allocation decisions and long-term financial planning.

  • Provide financial analysis and commentary to key stakeholders.

  • Lead, develop and manage team of analysts.

  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA highly preferred.

  • At least six years directly related experience.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills. Knowledge of Workday ERP system, Adaptive Planning tool and/or Power BI systems helpful.

  • Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized.

  • Customer service skills, confidentiality, superior strategic thinking and financial analysis, well-developed problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail required.

  • Superior communication skills, ability to effectively collaborate with divisional leadership and at all levels in the organization.

  • Capability to work under pressure and deadlines, ability to prioritize workflow and handle multiple tasks; and ability to work independently with minimal direction.

  • Experience in Non-Profit Professional Association preferred.
