We are looking for a Assistant Underwriter II-CORE to join our teamSummary -Provides support to Commercial & Specialty lines underwriting units. Calculate premiums, maintain coverage and exposure changes throughout the policy term, within the speed of service and standard operating procedures set forth by the department.A typical day will include the following:Communicates with appropriate colleagues about (P&C) needs, changes or concerns regarding assigned accounts.Maintains records of property & casualty (P&C) losses, endorsements or other pertinent information on assigned accounts.Understands key components of common products in the property & casualty line of business or insurance segment.Accurately enter all risk and exposure information into underwriting rating system following the companys filed rules, rates and underwriting appetite to calculate premiums which adequately reflect applicants exposure all while remaining within given underwriter authorityMaintain knowledge of underwriting rates, rules and guidelines on assigned programs, products, and geographic regions as well as knowledge on overall company workflow, procedures and productsProcesses both automatic renewals and endorsements for assigned accounts (cross-trained).Provide guidance and support to new hires and Assistant Underwriter I employees by assisting with their training and mentoring.Demonstrates initiative and willingness to take on additional responsibilities and volunteers for special projects.


High School Diploma or equivalent is required

Proficiency with Windows platform

2-3 years of Administrative Assistant experience, preferably within an insurance carriers underwriting department.
