Provides office assistance toensure smooth operation of the various Council on Aging's programs.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Ability to relate to senior citizens and the general public. Ability to write legibly and communicate clearly. Ability to operate computers to include various programs and applications.HUMAN RELATIONS Projects a positive attitude with co-workers, supervisors, Director and the general public. Ability to communicate effectively on the phone and in person. Performs duties in a courteous and respectful manner. Must project a professional image in dress, speech and mannerism.ILLUSTRATIVE TASKS (This is not an inclusive list; other tasks/duties may be assigned)1. Assisting with the PALS program 2. Data entry of state mandated KAMIS reports3. Assist the Fundraiser Coordinator with fundraiser tasks4. Backup for delivering Meals on Wheels to homebound seniors5. Receptionist backup answering phone, transferring calls, taking accurate messages, and email6. Maintains a high level of confidentiality regarding senior customers.7. Drives a county vehicle, reporting any vehicle problems and maintain fuel level.8. All other duties assigned.ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDSWork is performed both indoors and outdoors with exposure to seasonal weather conditions.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS1. Must possess and maintain a valid Kansas Driver's License2. Must have a high school diploma or GED certificate3. Must be able to pass the pre-employment drug testing and random drug testing.4. No record of DUI or outstanding warrants, lawsuits, or diversion, past or present.5. Must agree to KBI background check.6. No record of abuse or exploitation of seniors.7. Must be able to move freely with no physical restrictions.8. Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certifications.ADA/PHYSICAL DEMANDSVision - Adequate for driving vehicles and performing daily tasks.Hearing - Adequate for normal conversations with co-workers and seniors.Speech - Must be able to communicate clearly to allow co-workers and seniors to understand what is beingspoken.Standing - 30% of the time when doing various tasks.Walking - 40% of the time on various job functions. Must be able to walk without the aid of walker or cane.Sitting - 30% of the time when driving and when performing office duties.Lifting/Carrying - Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.Pushing/Pulling - N/AClimbing/Balancing - Minimum when going up steps.Stooping/Kneeling - MinimumReaching/Handling - Required on most tasks
