Job Description:

90% Web and Digital Strategy for recruitment and enrollment

  • Lead the creation of site content and features to continually improve the website user experience and support the organization’s goals and strategies

  • Manage the website’s content, including writing new content, creating new pages and functionality, editing and auditing existing content, and removing outdated content

  • Execute and manage digital advertising campaigns. Prepare reports and analytics on the overall performance of various marketing campaigns, including ROIs and KPIs

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to brainstorm new and innovative growth strategies and marketing techniques

  • Stay up to date with the latest web design and development trends and technologies. Identify ways to improve website UX, identifying and fulfilling opportunities for website improvement based on user feedback and performance metrics

  • Monitor, assess, and report on website performance. Monitor site analytics and develop monitoring dashboards for performance tracking. Work closely with internal teams to advise on Web Analytics data use & strategy, and content development

  • Responding to and troubleshooting all website issues.

  • Increase traffic and engagement to the website. Apply SEO and SEM best practices and strategies

  • Complete tests to ensure website efficiency and quality

  • Evaluate competitors’ websites, and follow industry best practices

  • Ensuring full compliance on the website with all laws and regulations

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, advertising, journalism, web design, web development, computer science or related field.

  2. Two years of related experience, which could include web design and development with proven experience successfully managing and update websites

  3. Strong working knowledge and experience with Content Management Systems as demonstrated by application materials

  4. Working knowledge and experience using web analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Tag Manager, Hotjar, etc.) as demonstrated by application materials

  5. In-depth understanding and applications of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) / SEM (Search Engine Marketing) as demonstrated by application materials

The Web & Digital Strategist leads the KU Enrollment and Admissions web and digital advertising strategy to help facilitate the recruitment and enrollment of new students to the University of Kansas. This person will be responsible for all aspects of overseeing our website, ensuring it is up-to-date, engaging, leverages SEO best practices and is easy to navigate. This individual also leads our digital advertising efforts, creating dynamic and effective digital ads through paid search, paid social, and other advertising channels. The ideal candidate will have experience with website management, search engine optimization, digital advertising, troubleshooting, as well as a strong understanding of analytics and reporting.
