The Senior Production Artist position reports through the Lawrence Production Center and may support several departments. Individuals have a variety of duties that support the various print processes in the plant. The Senior Production Artist in Lawrence is a full-time position on 1st shift (7:30 am to 4:00 pm), Monday through Friday.AN OVERVIEWThe Senior Production Artist (Sr. PA) supports the product development process by creating and completing total finished product packages that meet consumer needs.The Sr. PA creates, prepares and assembles final digital files in a plate/press ready format by generating and/or bringing together all digital production elements into an imposable format including: color separated design files, lettering, editorial, secondary process files and Hallmark copyright information. Within this process the Sr. PA is responsible for the aesthetic and technical accuracy of the files. The Sr. PA should also be well equipped to provide support for a wide variety of functions within the Pre-Press Production Art team. Including not only the creation of final file deliverables for original production art work, but also provide expert support and troubleshooting for file fixes (QN's) routed to the team through SAP, digital file coordination and auditing of original production art work done through external vendors.In this position you will: Collaborate as needed with upstream Designers, Production Designers, external business partners, Product Integrity Analyst's (PIA's) to create aesthetically compelling, relevant solutions with appropriate processes in a variety of format combinations. The Sr. PA will create high quality vector paths as needed; stepping and repeating of patterns as needed; must be able to understand and manipulate scale, value, and tone as needed. The Sr. PA must show excellent multitasking skills and demonstrate ability to prioritize projects in a fast moving environment. Flexibility and knowledge are both key to this position. Assembles/merges all appropriate digital files using a Mac computer (design, lettering, editorial, cardback, secondary process) to ensure a technically accurate digital deliverable for plate, press requirements. This is accomplished using their deep software expertise and knowledge of Hallmark design deliverables. Supported software applications included: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Pro.
