Job Description:

80% Teaching. Teach one or more 1-credit hour courses in the e-Program. Assigned courses may be in-person instruction on the Lawrence campus and/or an online format. General course format, syllabus and assignments have been developed/approved by Professionalism Program Director. Primary duties will be, but are not limited to: instruction, consultations, and assignment of grades. Lecturers should abide by the area's, School's and University's policies and procedures.

20% Service. Serve as a participating member of department. Engage in instruction-related activities beyond direct instruction. Examples include: participate in events, meetings, suggest course improvements, modify activities and advise students.

Position Overview:

The KU School of Business is seeking Lectures to teach in its undergraduate professional preparation program, e-Program. The e-Program course work is a series of six, 1-credit courses focused on career and professional excellence. Coursework includes:

  • BUS 110: Introduction to Professionalism – Laying the groundwork for personal and professional development.

  • BUS 120: Emerging Topics in Business – Gain exposure to cutting edge topics, trends and technologies.

  • BUS 210: Career Management and Planning

  • BUS 230: Introduction to Professions in Business

  • BUS 310: Internships with Impact – Students apply skills as they navigate a professional-level internship.

  • BUS 410: Professionalism Capstone – Prepare for successful transition to life after college.

Applicants should detail in their cover letter their preferred courses for teaching and demonstrate their qualifications for those courses based on their experience.

Lecturers in the School of Business may be part-time or full-time faculty, with their FTE determined by their course load. These non-tenure track positions are benefits eligible at .48 FTE or higher.

The successful candidate must have appropriate authorization to work in the U.S. before employment begins.
