55% - Recycling Collection – Ensure efficient recycling collection throughout the campus community by following assigned collection routes and schedules.

30% - Recycling Processing – Ensure recycling is processed in a timely manner at the KU Recycling Warehouse, including unloading mixed recycling into compactor and operating commercial baler.

10% - Customer Service – Provide remarkable customer service to various departments across campus through interactions during recycling collections. Monitoring emails and service requests.

5% - Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience operating any of the following equipment: 1.5-ton box truck, forklift, and/or a commercial baling equipment.

  2. Knowledge of and familiarity with KU facilities, services, and processes.

  3. Commitment to recycling and environmental sustainability.

  4. Experience providing customer service, organizational and leadership skills.

  5. Experience working in a warehouse environment or materials handling.

Position Overview:

This is full-time position in KU Operations. Responsibilities include collecting recycling from a variety of locations across campus, providing customer service to campus departments through personal interactions during collections, as well as working collaboratively with other full-time and student hourly employees and the Recycling Operations Coordinator. Requires driving a 1.5-ton box truck. New updated hourly rate of $17/hr.
