The Salvation Army - Metro Division Capital Campaign Coordinator in Lawrence, Kansas

Job Objective: The position will maintain and facilitate all aspects related to capital campaign planning and organization; work with corps officers, campaign leadership, and divisional consultant on details of campaign plan and timetable. Monitor campaign progress with regular reports to campaign leaders and reports required by The Salvation Army. Record and acknowledge campaign gifts and pledges. Motivate and assist campaign leaders and volunteers

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Set up and maintain campaign office

  • Assist in organizing solicitations of volunteer leadership

  • Work with campaign leadership to organize and schedule campaign-related meetings including, but not limited to, donor solicitations, Advisory Board, Steering Committee, and other campaign committees

  • Attend all meetings; record and distribute minutes

  • Track progress toward key campaign activity benchmarks

  • Assist in development of all campaign of materials including case for support, training kits, gift proposals, and gift agreements with support from divisional consultant and divisional marketing team

  • Conduct prospect research as requested to support engagement of prospective leaders and donors

  • Prepare proposals and briefing memos in advance of all recruiting and solicitation visits

  • Debrief leaders on all meetings and maintain notes in donor information system

  • Coordinate implementation of internal and external campaign communications, with support from divisional marketing team and consultant

  • Provide weekly progress reports to officers, leaders, and consultant

  • Record campaign gifts and pledges

  • Send campaign pledge and gift records to divisional data team

  • Work with divisional data team to generate and send timely gift receipt acknowledgments and pledge payment reminders

  • Communicate via face-to-face, phone, email, and virtual meetings

  • Manage all grant requests and reports for General Income as well as income for the Campaign

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Four-year academic or business degree; coursework in sales and fundraising and in management skills such as planning, goal setting, staff leadership, community relations preferred

Experience: Successful experience in fund raising, project management, sales, or office management; knowledge of the Lawrence community is preferred

Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Must be well organized and highly focused on assigned role

  • Ability to rally staff and volunteers involved in campaign

  • Superior organizational skills

  • Ability to adapt to Salvation Army policies and procedures

  • Strong computer skills and able to use Microsoft Office, donor database, and virtual meeting software

  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively and maintain positive relationships with officers, staff, volunteers, and other stake holders

  • Must be imaginative, innovative, willing, and able to develop new ideas

  • Ability to adapt to changing campaign priorities and activities

    Supervisory Responsibility: Supervise volunteers related to Campaign and any large group volunteer activities as directed

    Physical Requirements: : Include speaking, hearing and vision ability; manual dexterity; lifting, pulling and pushing materials up to 25 pounds; bending, squatting, and walking; sitting for extended periods of time; standing for extended periods of time.     Travel:Primarily local; occasional out of town travel may be required

    Driving: Yes; must possess a valid driver's license and be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business

    Working Conditions: Work is performed in a typical office environment and in the community; evening and weekend work may be required
