Job Description:
50% - Support a variety of networked applications and services offered on site and remotely through a Windows server-based environment.
20% - Coordinate systems administration responsibilities for Windows Enterprise servers with IT
Systems Administration and serve as systems administrator for desktop workstations as assigned.
Install, configure, test, document, and provide high-level support for desktop software applications used in conjunction with supported computing systems and services.
Administer desktop environments in a secure and responsible manner conforming to the acceptable use policies of the organization.
10% - Participate in and manage other projects and departmental activities as needed.
5% - Work with Web Coordinator to create and manage web space, modify rights and control viewing privileges for KU Library web sites.
5% - Assess need for new hardware and software and make recommendations for purchase.
5% - Assess need for upgrade of current software applications and make recommendations for implementation.
5% - Create custom programming and batch script files to automate routine processes and facilitate maintenance of servers and applications.

Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma/ GED and five (5) years of relevant professional experience or an Associate’s degree and three (3) years of relevant professional experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a technology related field and one (1) year of relevant professional experience.
Three (3) years experience in administering IIS services.
Three (3) years experience with server administration and management of operating systems, including Windows 2012 and above.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Adobe Cold Fusion.
Experience administering SSL Certificates.
Experience supporting networked applications and databases.
Experience in administering Apache and/or Tomcat web servers on a MS Windows platform.
Strong commitment to and significant experience with customer service.
Experience with Microsoft SharePoint.
Ability to learn quickly and adapt rapidly in a changing environment.
Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
Experience with Linux operating systems.
Position Overview:
The Application Administrator Sr. coordinates administration of Windows based services, including applications and web sites housed on servers maintained by Systems Administration. This position works as part of a team in Application Administration to provide user-focused application support for campus wide and IT specific services. This position works closely with Systems Administration, KU Libraries, and vendor support staff to provide these services. This position participates in a 24/7 on call rotation.
