Drive the Supply Quality Co-Manufacturer program compliance and support and ensure the effectiveness of the DFA approved Vendor Program. Build effective partnerships across the value chain to drive a best in class supply quality program. Be accountable for the Supply Quality Co-man management within DFA. Develop the structure of supplier compliance as per DFA supplier expectations, company policies, and per supply quality policies and procedures. Implement Center of Excellence strategic initiatives.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership/People and Cross-Functional Management
Manage contract manufactures compliance to supplier expectations within DFA
Manage contract manufacturers adherence to Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) requirements; this includes process validation reviews, raw material hazard analysis, and risk assessment
Conduct food safety records assessment to ensure the hazard management under preventive controls is assessable, supply chain controls are being met, and suitable verification is performed to ensure compliance
Assess that vendor food safety details and laboratory testing criteria meets supply chain controls. Drive vulnerability assessment criteria for vendor compliance
Develop co-manufacturer specification compliance verification program through competitive sensory and quality attributes analysis and Quality Improvement Plans.
Partner with R&D team and the business to create finished product specifications including manufacturing specifications for finished goods produced by contract manufacturers.
Ensure specification compliance by co-manufacturers through quality improvement meetings, Key Performance Indicators and onsite assessments.
Harness knowledge from external technical and reference organization's and propagate learning’s and best practices within the organization
Understand and share best practice/trends internally (across BUs) and externally (attend/sit within identified trade associations)
Develop metrics and maintain a Co-Man “score-card” to provide visibility to performance to cross-functional partners.
Program Management
Ensure compliance of all vendor documentation, validation studies, and preventive controls for ready to eat finished goods and specific strategic customer finished goods.
Manage the co-manufacturer assessment schedule.
Partnering with Procurement to develop, maintain approved co-man lists and selection criteria.
Tactical activities
Execute Co-Man Qualification and food safety records assessment including raw material vendors as needed.
Assess Co-Man food safety plans to ensure FSMA compliance, consumer, as well as brand protection
Drive closure of assessment finding corrections for acceptance; ensure closure of all assessments in timely manner
Lead co-man non-conformance reviews. Provide oversight for Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA). Manage and coordinate resolution of co-man complaints across DFA by troubleshooting issues and facilitating issue resolution

Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience
Master’s Degree in food science, Biological sciences, or chemical/food engineering
3-5 years’ minimum experience within food and beverage industry working with vendor management, auditing, and process reviews for FSMA compliance
Strong background in supply quality, raw materials (ingredients & packaging), food safety, food processing technologies, FSMA, HACCP, risk assessment, finished good specification development, process control/sensory evaluation protocols.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must be willing to travel 50-75% of the time (up to 2 weeks per month)
Able to represent the needs and interests of DFA with vendors
Able to manage supplier relationships with the appropriate level of business acumen
Able to work with cross-functional teams at multi levels within the organization
Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
Able to interact positively and work effectively with others (interpersonal skills)
