The University of Kansas Health System Sterile Processing Technician in KANSAS CITY, Kansas

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the disinfection, sterilization, preparation and documentation of surgical instrumentation. Successful candidates will be detailed oriented with proven sterile processing experience. In this role, you will perform repetitive work in a fast-paced environment with state of the art disinfection & sterilization equipment. You will be responsible for working in all operational aspects of sterile processing to include but not limited to; Decontamination, Prep & Pack, Sterilization, Sterile Storage, Case Cart management. You will be responsible for quality assurance testing and validation of all disinfection & sterilization equipment. You will perform inventory control and will need to be very detailed oriented and processed driven.

The University of Kansas Health System Sterile Processing Department reprocesses approximately 2.1 million instrument sets and over 7 million individual instruments annually. Sterile Processing’s focus is Quality and Efficiency and continuously develops process improvement initiatives through process optimization and ongoing education.   • Certificate, License or Registration CS/SPD certification within first year

  • BLS Certification required within the first 60 days of employment

  • High school diploma or equivalent


  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Sterile ProcessingCertificate,

  • Certified CS/SPD or Surgical Technician
