Quality Control Laboratory Chemist
Kelly Science and Clinical is seeking an intelligent, energetic candidate, for a full-time, temp-to-hire, Chemist for one of our clients in their corporate lab located in Kansas City, KS .
The ideal candidate for this position has outstanding analytical, leadership, people, and problem-solving skills, as well as thinks innovatively, and constantly strives for excellence and improvement.
The Quality Control Laboratory Chemist is responsible for all quality control support of the chemical operations which includes but is not limited to the following:
Perform testing of raw materials, in-process, final products, stability samples, and R&D samples
Provide technical support to manufacturing
Ensure instrument qualifications are valid
Maintain neat documentation in compliance with CGMPs, ISO regulations, and internal SOPs
Conduct self-check on all QC tickets and laboratory reports
File and copy lab analysis reports as required
Ensure all chemicals are logged into the proper database
Ensure that the QC Lab is clean and properly maintained
Retain, identify, or dispose samples properly
Assist in arranging and handling the disposal of waste solvents and solids generated from the laboratory operations
Assist in documenting inventory and all related QC supplies
Maintain the QC sample and retain rooms
Maintain record of controlled substances
Other duties as dictated by business need
Education and Skills Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering/Chemistry
Experience/knowledgeable with cementitious powders; experience can be academic or employer-based
Strong ability to multi-task and highly self-motivated
Willingness to work with powders and cementitious materials
Quick learner, team player
Excellent communication skills
Demonstrated problem solving ability and analysis at high skill level
Superior decision-making ability
Ability to read and write in English
Detail oriented and quality minded
Able to perform at a high level in a fast-paced environment
Good housekeeping skills
Have a passion for excellence – perform reliably, do great work
Prior industry experience is a plus; NOTE: this is an industrial-type work environment, not pharmaceutical or research-based.
Experience with QuickBooks is a plus
Knowledge of contact management systems is a plus
Ability to pass a background check, pre-employment physical exam, and drug screen

Hours: 8A -5P, Monday – Friday
Pay : Based on Experience but a great salary!
