Hollywood Casino Kansas Speedway is currently looking for a Dual Rate Poker Host to join the team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

DEALER ROLE

  • Provide friendly, fast, and helpful customer service, through the consistent practice and delivery of Red Carpet Customer Service to all guests and team members.

  • Ability to deal poker in order to provide a courteous and entertaining experience.

  • Accept direction during day to day operations to ensure department standards and operational guidelines within the Poker area are met.

  • Initiate courteous and friendly conversation with guests and provides game instructions to guests upon request or as assigned to encourage game activity.

  • Sponsor new dealers as needed in order to provide new hires with adequate on the job training.

  • Protect the integrity of the game through visual observation of all guests and game layout

  • Responsible to maintain a clean, organized work area including wiping down poker tables and picking up dirty glasses and ashtrays from empty seats.

  • Present oneself as a credit to the Company and encourages others to do the same.

  • Performs accurate chip transactions.

  • Observe all customer bets.

  • Notify Poker Leadership immediately of any irregularities or any customer requests which are outside of a Poker Dealer's authority or knowledge.

  • Meet department uniform, appearance and grooming requirements.

  • Must adhere to regulatory, department and company policies

  • Perform all job duties in a safe and responsible manner.

  • Perform other job related and compatible duties as assigned.

    HOST ROLE

    • Operate computerized and/or manual poker seating reservation system.
  • Assist in coordinating general requests from guests and players within the poker room with various departments, including basic host functions.

  • Assist in coordinating poker tournaments and other special events within the poker room.

  • Maintain familiarity with company activities and events and responds to customer inquiries.

  • Responsible for maintaining an impressed bank and ensuring the impressed bank is balanced at all times.

  • Perform daily chip transfers from the main bank to the poker bank.

  • Assist in the handling of all guest related matters with positive outcomes on disagreements in a consistent, professional manner.

    • Meet department uniform, appearance and grooming requirements.
  • Must adhere to regulatory, department and company policies.

  • Perform all job duties in a safe and responsible manner.

  • Perform other job related and compatible duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Two years progressively more challenging experience in a gaming operations role, poker experience required

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft applications

  • Ability to understand and analyze Budget & P&L Statements

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents In English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area,

Possess ability to operate an adding machine and have basic computer skills.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
