Job Description Summary:
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at The University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City, Kansas, is seeking a dedicated adult inpatient psychiatrist to join our team providing direct patient care. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes in an inpatient setting at the Strawberry Hill Campus. The Faculty Clinical Track emphasizes professional service in clinical settings.
Job Description:
Job Duties Outlined:
- Provide a comprehensive range of therapeutic services, such as diagnostic assessments, medication management, crisis intervention, and overall care for adult inpatients with psychiatric disorders.
- Participate in supervision and mentoring psychiatry residents, psychology trainees, and medical students through didactic lectures and clinical training.
- Participate in clinical call coverage (2-3 weeknights per month), weekend call coverage (every 4-6 weeks), continuous quality improvement effort.
- Active involvement in Medical School and Department committees.
- Afternoon outpatient clinic appointments is an optional duty, available if desired

Required Qualifications:
Education:
- MD, DO or equivalent degree
- Graduate of an ACGME-accredited Adult Psychiatry Residency program
License/Certification:
- ABPN board certification/board eligibility in Psychiatry
- Eligible for medical licensure in Kansas and Missouri
Preferred Qualifications:
License/Certification:
- 1 - 3 years of work experience in an academic medical center and providing inpatient psychiatry services
