Prime Healthcare Manager of Emergency Services in Kansas City, Kansas

Providence Medical Center is affiliated with Providence Place, a skilled and rehabilitative care center, Select Specialty Hospital and a Doctors Building, Saint John Hospital, Leavenworth, Kansas and Prime Healthcare.

We are looking for a Manager of Emergency Services at Providence Medical Center. The Manager will be a registered nurse who has supervised, assessed, implemented and coordinated delivery of patient care in the Emergency Department. This individual will need to be driven to establish and continuously meet goals and objectives of the department. Manager of Emergency Services is responsible for the day to day management and coordination of all activities in the Emergency Department.
Duties included, but are not limited to:
Supervising and monitoring performance of the Emergency Department staff.
Interacting with the physicians, hospital staff, outside agencies, patients and patients families/significant other(s) to provide comprehensive care.
Overseeing all nursing activities to achieve and maintain efficient and competent nursing practices.
Assumes responsibilities for responding to codes, assessing and charting, and following through with appropriate documentation.
Developing and implementing of departmental plans, including performance improvement activities and compliance with current regulations.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
Must have a current and valid state license as a Registered Nurse.
BLS upon hire and maintain current.
A minimum of two years supervisory/management experience necessary.
Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
PALS upon hire and maintain current.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) upon hire and maintain current.
Minimum of three years of continuous clinical experience in a clinical/acute care setting.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), preferred.
Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below):
- Non-OB facilities: NRP certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
