Position Description

Pentair currently has an opening for an Impeller Cell Operator to join our team at our Kansas City, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating multiple operations in a manufacturing cell consisting of CNC and manual metal cutting machines, and impeller finishing machines and workstations.

Location Description

Pentair’s Kansas City business is leading manufacturer of custom and engineered to order pumps for commercial, fire, industrial and infrastructure markets for both water and wastewater applications. Pumps include, vertical turbine and vertical turbine fire, solids handling and submersible solids handling, vertical turbine solids handling, propeller, vortex and ANSI pumps.

Position Hours/Shift

2nd Shift

3:30pm to 12:00am

Pay

$25.56/hr in first 6 months

$26.56/ hr after 6 months

$27.56/hr final rate (after full year)

Job Tasks

  • Receives work assignments, verbal and/or written instructions from supervision.

  • Receives parts to be machined and obtains tools from tool crib or fixture storage area.

  • Works from process routings, blueprints, computer schedules, and/or written or verbal instructions from supervision.

  • Checks equipment for proper operation.

  • Rigs parts for handling using appropriate slings, hooks, or other lifting devices.

  • Performs necessary material handling throughout sequence of operations within the cell.

  • Positions parts on bench or in machine, secures and aligns, using hoist or manipulator as required.

  • Sets up and operates machines using programs, tools, and equipment needed.

  • Selects proper speeds and feeds, inputs programs and program data as required.

  • Performs a variety of machining operations such as face, bore, turn, chamfer, drill, ream, thread, tap, and keyway.

  • Performs operations such as deburring, grinding, polishing, filing, balancing, assembling wear rings and balance weights.

  • Checks parts with measuring instruments as required.

  • Stamps/marks identification and production information on parts as required.

  • Lubricates and performs daily/weekly preventive maintenance tasks on machines and equipment assigned to this classification.

  • Prepares production card and turns in to supervision, or enters production information directly into system, as directed

  • Keeps machines, tools, and work place clean and removes chips from machines.

  • Reports defective material and equipment to supervision.

  • Maintains good housekeeping by keeping tools, materials, and equipment in proper place.

  • Observes all safety rules and watches for safety of others.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to operate overhead, hoist, and hand trucks.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist.

Must be able to wear full body PPE and respirator.
